Event Dates: May 23, 2018 - June 4, 2018
The CrossPoint Board Nominating Committee is collecting nominees to serve on the Board of Directors until Monday, June 4th 2018.
The purpose of the Board of Directors is to serve the members of CrossPoint Community Church by assuring that the church fulfills all of itsBiblical, mission and business functions to achieve its desired outcomes while avoiding unacceptable actions and situations.
In general, members of the Board of Directors are:• Involved (present in Sunday morning worship and serving in another ministry area)
• Responsible (carry out tasks in a timely manner and maintains confidentiality)
• Honest (speak with truth and love)
• Disciples (are regularly in the Word alone and with others while living out the vision of defying the notion that anyone is beyond the love ofJesus)
More specifically, the role of a Board Member is one of Spiritual Leadership; the role of Board Member fits into the realm of Deacon/Deaconess. The Biblical qualifications for Deacons are found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13, Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slandered, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. Fore those who see well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. Similarly we see the expectations of the Deacon role in Acts 6:3 as being of good repute, full of the spirit of wisdom...It is of paramount importance that those leading as Board Members posses these same qualities and qualifications. We greatly cherish the time and experience the Board Members share as they work with ministry leaders and lay leaders to accomplish the vision and mission of the church.
