THE BOOK OF MATTHEW

Have you ever seen someone use the Bible to judge others in one moment, and then hypocritically break its most basic teachings in the next?  We often claim Jesus’ teachings when it’s convenient, but if we read what he really said and did, it seems that Jesus was an “equal opportunity offender”, challenging the hearts and minds of people like us...and extending love and mercy to the type of people we can’t stand.   What if we had the courage to listen to what he actually said and consider what he actually did? What if the things he said and did really could bring us the “rest for our souls” that he promises? Join us as we take an honest look at the things Jesus said and did as we journey through the historical biography of The Gospel According to Matthew.

JESUS GREATER THANS SERIES

Let’s refocus on the centerpiece of the Bible: Jesus.  Jesus is the point of the story. We’ll explore faith and discover that He is the better Adam, Abraham, David, Isaac, and Hosea. Through this series, the CrossPoint Crew will learn that the whole story of Christianity is about Jesus, that (unlike Adam) Jesus resisted temptation and can give us strength to do the same, that Hosea shows us Jesus’s love for the sinful, that Isaac prefigures the sacrifice Jesus would later make for us on the cross, and that (unlike Jonah) Jesus lovingly seeks to draw unlikely disciples to himself.

THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS SERIES

How will I find Happiness in 2018? Happiness means something different to different people. Many, in our modern society, attempt to “find” happiness through material possessions, a new job, or even a significant other. In the end, though, these things often leave us just as empty as we were before. ‘The Search for Happiness’ flips this approach on its head, detailing the importance of putting our focus on the person of Jesus and understanding God’s blessed happiness.
